Meet Robyn

Canadian singer-songwriter and recording artist Robyn Slade made her mark in the music industry at the age of 14 with her stirring song about the devastating effects of Dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease, “I Know Who She Is". Her emotional performance in the recording studio singing a love story of an elderly man visiting his wife in a nursing home who does not recognize him anymore, was captured by her mother on her iPhone and uploaded to Facebook a few hours later. Overnight the song skyrocketed on Facebook touching the lives of thousands worldwide, capturing media attention along the way. A few days later, the song and video were uploaded to YouTube and trended #36 at its peak. The heartfelt performance gained curious and supportive followers wanting to hear and see more of Robyn Slade.  

Slade was born May 2, 2002, in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland. Coming from a musical background (her mother sings and plays piano and her father sings and plays guitar) Slade began taking private voice lessons at the age of eight, under the tutelage of Newfoundland musician/singer/songwriter Shawn Wiseman. A few years later as she entered her teens, she added guitar lessons. At age 15, in 2017, Slade released her second song and video "Saviour". It was uploaded to social media platforms and the Country/Gospel/Rock song with a hint of Blues took off. It quickly became a hit with her followers, gaining media attention within a few days.  

A year later, at age 16, in 2018, Slade released her third single “Hey”. The moving duet featuring Clint Curtis, tells the story of a young girl meeting her father for the very first time. “Hey” soared on social media platforms capturing the hearts of thousands worldwide, especially those searching for their biological family. The song was picked up by film producers in the United States and is now featured in the full length film documentary “Erasing Family” released April, 2020.  

In February 2019, voted in by her fans, Slade landed in The Top 100 CBC Music 2019 Searchlight Competition with her Dementia/Alzheimer’s song, “I Know Who She Is”.  

In May 2019 at barely 17, Slade released her full length debut album “The Way I See It”. Two weeks before her album drop, Slade released “Hurt Locker”, a powerful song focusing on Mental Health and Suicide Awareness. Her haunting vocals and poignant video exploded on all social media platforms having a huge impact on those struggling with mental illness along with those in suicide prevention. The song led to an invitation for Slade to co-host and perform at The 2019 Law Enforcement Suicide Awareness Walk in Haymarket, Virginia on September 28th, 2019, hosted by the American organization, Blue H.E.L.P.  

During July 2019, " Hurt Locker " landed Slade a spot in the Top 900 worldwide semi-finalists of The 2019 Unsigned Only Music Competition based in Nashville, TN.  

In August 2019, Blue H.E.L.P and Slade released a new video for her song “Hurt Locker “to raise awareness about the incidents that contribute to post traumatic stress, not only for first responders but for others on the scene. The video soared globally gaining Slade new supportive and devoted followers.  

On September 28th, 2019, Slade took to the stage with a memorable, heartfelt performance of “Hurt Locker” at The 2019 Law Enforcement Suicide Awareness Walk in Haymarket, VA. During her performance, Slade dropped a surprise acoustic version of a new single. The song, "Hero's Heart", was written as a thank you to Blue H.E.L.P for her Haymarket experience. "Hero's Heart", a powerful tribute to all First Responders, left everyone speechless and emotional. Blue H.E.L.P, who was deeply touched by the song, thanked Slade by providing her with a surprise video for her new single. The official recording and video of "Hero's Heart" was uploaded to social media platforms on January 15, 2020 and surpassed over 1 million views on Facebook in less than two weeks. It continues to climb at over 1.7 Million views today.  

In January 2020, Slade was voted in the top three finalists for Fan Choice Entertainer of the year in her home province of Newfoundland, Canada.  

In February 2020, Slade voted in by her fans, placed in the Top 100, CBC Music 2020 Searchlight competition with her mental health/suicide awareness song “Hurt Locker”.  

In June 2020, Slade was thrilled to announce “Hero’s Heart” as the theme song for the new upcoming television series “Paramedic Angel” based in the United States.  

In January 2021, Slade was thrilled to announce to her fans she was a Finalist in the 17th Annual International Acoustic Music awards with her song "I Know Who She Is".  

In May 2021, Slade released her latest single “Inside Voice”. The bullying awareness song delivers an influential message to never let anyone who doesn’t value you decide your worth. The song touched her fans deeply and continues to soar on social media platforms.  

In June 2021, Slade voted in by her fans, placed in the Top 100 of the CBC Music’s Toyota Searchlight with “Hero’s Heart”.  

In July 2021, “Hero’s Heart” landed Slade as a semi-finalist in the 2021 Unsigned Only Music Competition based out of Nashville ,TN.  

Robyn is in the process of writing and recording new music for the release of her second album in early 2023.  The first single "Love" from the new album will be released on September 30, 2022

A young independent artist, her vocals are described as angelic, soulful and at times haunting. Slade’s unique style of music has left many wondering about her exact genre. While she can sing almost any genre, inspired by Sarah McLaughlin, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Stevie Wonder, The Eagles, Ray Lamontagne, and Luke Combs, Slade is a country /pop artist at heart and continues to captivate her audiences worldwide with her emotionally raw storytelling.

She has subsequently released two singles "Hero's Heart" in 2020 and "Inside Voice" in 2021.  Robyn is in the process of planning for A New Album, with the first single "Love" being released on September 30th
